STATIC GUARD SELF DEFENCE TRAINING
Static Guards that are SIA Licensed face ever increasing threats today. The need for duty of care should be paramount.
Introduction to the Static Guard environment
Similarly to close protection or door supervisor work security guards deal with violent situations as the role of duty. They have to be very careful not only about their own personal safety but what they might cause or their actions trigger. We live in a suing time civil and human rights limit our actions. If you breach these rights that will effect your personal and work life too as employers are really sensitive about satisfying their customers and definitely about keeping their rights. Following RAID principles you will be able to deal with difficult situations and protect yourself if you have to and not braking the law. You will also be able to justify your action in court as courtroom survival is part of our package.
How we train
Before any training program is delivered we require the parent company or individuals to complete a confidential Training Needs Analysis which aids in the selection of the correct program. This will keep us within the constraints of your Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Use of Force policy (Law of Self Defence) appropriate for that particular role you are operating within. Once the program has been agreed by full delivery presentation by us, the training area will be booked, which can be internal or a secure external location. All security delegates will be briefed on the respective program outlining the aims and objectives of the course. There are no constraints of training times and all courses will be delivered to the amount of days allocated (normally from 1 day testers to 6 day full courses)
What we train you in
Rapid Assault Initiation Defence (RAID), is the faster and more natural response to existing, technical martial arts including Hapkido and Aikido. Members of various security company's have already signed up for an instructive course. The course includes pre-conflict indication, cellular defence concepts, multiple threat self-defence, counter-knife drills as well as counter-pistol defensive moves. The programme’s creator and director of CTR Services & H2H Defence.co.uk, Tremaine Kent, who has an accolade of modern self defence qualifications and close-quarter-combat experience in countries including China, Loas, Miamar and South America, has confessed, “Most close-quarter-combat systems don’t work as they follow a traditional martial arts technical approach but RAID is based on the body’s natural response and is not reliant on a traditional technical approach.”
RAID focuses on a security operatives “Startle-to-Flinch” reflex, which every person possesses when threatened close to their body. This is then manipulated into existing self-defence conceptual moves derived from programme’s including the Israel Defence Force’s “Kapap - Krav Maga”, US Navy SEAL’s “Rapid Assault Tactics” (RAT) British Army “Arrest and Restraint” and civilian “Modern Conflict Management and Personal Protection” systems. Aimed at disengaging an attacker’s cognitive brain response, RAID encourages the assault of an assailant’s head with existing methods, aimed at transferring the attacker’s mind-set from offensive to defensive. This physical application can be conducted passively (no long term damage and with minimal force) or actively (maximum destruction and lethal force), which combined with the Pre and Post conflict modules provides a security operative with a primary defence strategy in line with company policies”.
“By drafting principles of thought process, we can establish an inherent system that is triggered by spontaneous reactions like the flinch reflex and survival instinct. What we need to do is educate you on how to make that process better and add the fluent options idea of thinking to counter any follow up,”. RAID also deals with pre and post-conflict situations, including tools to establish the means of preventing or winning a situation and encouraging dialogue to prevent post-traumatic stress.
