DEALING VIOLENCE

Today violence seems to be every where, on the streets, newspapers and TV.

Dealing with Violence

Violence does surround us there isn’t a day that passes without a shocking story in the paper or the TV, showing someone's been attacked and injured. But if you think about it really, on a day to day basis violence is not really that common. Some people live their entire life without experiencing real violence. Even people from violent backgrounds don't fight all the time. The problem is that watching telly or reading the paper will not prepare you for violence or raise your awareness. Let's be honest to ourselves when we see a story in the paper of a man that had his car stolen while he was opening his gate and left the car on the driveway with a running engine, this will not make us do anything differently if we were in the same position. Or a girl was drugged and abducted from a night club after leaving her drink unattended at the bar, this won't make us carry our drink and cover it with our hand.

People tend to be in an apathetic state and commonly say “that won't happen to me.” Just as watching violence in telly will not teach you how to deal with it. It will not really raise your awareness. The only thing it fuels is your fear level when it's happening. Fear is not our foe it is good to have a little fear as it stimulates our adrenal glands and produces adrenaline which prepares our body for action. But the problem is that fear without control easily turns into shock which blocks your defensive response. Without experiencing violence personally you won't be prepared and if your awareness level is low that is only going to increase your shock level and you will go into denial and keep telling yourself “this is not happening to me”. At that point people realise that they have to do something about the knowledge void and start looking for self defence or martial arts classes. When they choose a non challenging class where they don’t probe the personal barriers they get technically better, confident, more flexible etc, however only in a sterile environment. This creates a sense of imbalance as the student has become good in the gym and feels because they can block all of the instructor's punches in a sterile environment they can do the same on the street.

The RAID System is all about the street and that’s why when you have been taught how to combine our street defence concepts with your natural instincts and have a tool box to work with we place you in the environment, slowly at first and then add to the stimulus by using props to challenge the senses, such as lights, noise and role players. Whilst the training is conducted in a safe environment you will experience as near to real as we can make it. All of the training conducted is videoed and played back to look at the legal consequence of your actions. This holistic approach has been trademarked by H2H Defence as it is the most up-to-date complete self defence today. “Don’t delay train today”

Welcome to H2H Information Pages

H2H Defence Limited has designed a system that bolts on to your natural body’s instinct. This means that it is not technically based nor does it rely on complex fine motor skill drills. We like to think that we are a conceptual approach to certain problems dealing with Conflict, Violence, Aggression and physical confrontations. We haven’t reinvented the wheel with our system, we have made it more complete and actually understood what happens leading up to, prior and after a confrontation. Because most martial arts are based on a sporting application, they tend to only focus on the technical physical side of defence, that is why they are called martial arts and not self defence. Due to the fact that serious crime is on the increase we urge martial artists to stop trying to cross over into self defence as it is preparing someone on a technical level to fail when they meet a potential violence attacker, who is not governed by law, consequence or any set protocols, in fact it is up to their imagination and commitment to winning that makes them so volatile. The information on this page provides links to areas that we feel people need some answers for.
